My neighborhood

🇺🇸 Written in English

My neighborhood is a lively place. The houses are so close together that you can see into your neighbor’s living room all day long. As a result, you regularly see something happening that you could write a book about. This makes it seem like you know everyone very well.

It is a neighborhood that has its own character, formed by a mix of old and new buildings. The patches of green have already given way to a twelve-story apartment building. The advantage of this is that you will always run into someone to have a little chat.

In the morning, as the sun rises just above the horizon, you can see the neighborhood slowly waking up. The smell of roaring motorcycles, waiting to cross the bridge, slowly fills the streets. Cyclists and school children also regularly drown out the sound of birds.

My neighborhood

My street is best known for boats passing by. In spring and summer, this brings many tourists and crowded terraces. The bridge that opens and closes automatically to allow the boats to pass is an imposing sight for many.

There are always people you meet, whether it is the elderly man walking his dog every morning, or a tourist taking pictures. Everyone seems to live in harmony, and it feels like a big family, where we all have our own stories and customs.

What I like most about my neighborhood? There are a few benches you can sit on to watch all this. In the evening, when the sky turns pink from the sun’s setting, you often see families resting here, while their children race by on bikes.

My neighborhood is not perfect, and sometimes challenges come along, such as a car suddenly tearing recklessly down the sidewalk. This does keep everyone alert and we watch out for each other. Feel free to stop by sometime to see my lively neighborhood for yourself.
