It was a bright, sunny morning at “Evergreen Zoo.” The animals were slowly beginning to wake up. Among them, in the quiet corner of the tiger enclosure, stood a majestic Bengal tiger named Raja. Today Raja had discovered a strange treasure – an old, crumpled newspaper that had blown into his enclosure during the night.
Curious, Raja fiddled with the newspaper and nestled comfortably on a large rock. He managed to unfold the newspaper. To his surprise, he saw a world behind the glass. His blue-colored eyes scanned the headlines, which covered city news, sports and even the opening of a new zoo nearby.
Raja was fascinated. He read about the latest soccer game, the weather report and a story about a famous artist. Occasionally he paused to think or to observe the visitors staring at him through the glass. Some chuckled at the sight of a tiger reading a newspaper; they took a picture or whispered in amazement.
As the day progressed, other animals noticed Raja’s unusual activity. The playful monkeys came closer, curious about this strange, intelligent creature who was reading a newspaper. The zookeeper walking by chuckled at the sight and decided to bring Raja a fresh newspaper every morning, hoping to attract more visitors.
By late afternoon, the sun was sinking lower and casting a golden glow over the enclosure. Raja carefully folded his paper, satisfied with his discovery. Although he was still a captive tiger, in that moment he felt connected to a world beyond the glass – an explorer of stories, a reader of the world.
When the zoo closed for the day, Raja curled up on his rock, dreaming of adventures beyond the pages of the newspaper, wondering what tomorrow would bring.
